If you're looking for a way to save money on gas this year, here's a way to get unlimited miles per gallon. Instead of a gas-guzzling car, truck or SUV, try driving a bicycle to work for a week. The League of American Bicyclists is sponsoring their annual Bike to Work Week and Bike to work Day from May 12 through 16 this year. All Week Long
• FREE Santa Fe Trails bus ride if you're incorporating a bike in your commute!
• FREE drinks at the Travel Bug, 839 Paseo de Peralta
• 15 % off food and drinks at the Aztec Cafe, 317 Aztec St., excluding pre-packaged goods, if you bike to work
• FREE small coffee at Ecco Espresso & Gelato, 105 E. Marcy St. when you ride your bike
• Second Street Brewery 10% discount to all Bicycle / Pedestrian commuters!

Santa Fe Bikeways Map Unveiling
• Monday, May 12, 11 AM
• Bike to Work Week kicks off with unveiling of Santa Fe Bikeways Map Press Conference, FREE coffee and safety checks at Mellow Velo, 638 Old Santa Fe Trail

Bike to Lunch at the Cowgirl
• Monday, May 12, 11:30 to 4:30 PM
• 2 for 1 lunch special at the Cowgirl Hall of Fame, 319 S. Guadalupe St.

Children's Bicycle Safety Poster Contest
• Wednesday, May 14, 5 PM
• Poster Contest Winner to be announced at City Hall

Bike to Work Day
• Friday, May 16, 7 AM to 10 AM
• MAIN EVENT on the Plaza
  • Raffles, free food, free T-shirts, water bottles and many other giveaways, “do-it-yourself” bicycle maintenance workshops
  • Santa Fe Mayor David Coss and NMDOT Secretary Rhonda Faught to speak at 7:45 AM
• FREE pastries when you ride a bike to work Santa Fe Baking Company, 504 W. Cordova
• FREE drink when you bike to work Meridian Espresso, 228 Old Santa Fe Trail, and Downtown Subscription, 376 Garcia St.
• FREE coffee when you bike to work Plaza Bakery/Haagen-Dazs
• GREEN BUSINESS NETWORK MEETING RIDES TO WORK! In celebration of Bike to Work Day, the Santa Fe Alliance will hold their Green Business Network Meeting at 7:30 AM on the Plaza Friday, May 16.

Bike to the Plaza for CommUNITY Days
• Saturday, May 17, 10 AM to 4 PM
• On Second Street: Family Bike Crawfish Cruise. Leaves Second Street Brewery at 10 AM for 1.5 hour ride. All participants get 10% Second Street Brewery discount. Also, Mountain Bike Punk Crawfish Enduro. Friendly Mountain Bike ride leaves Second Street Brewery at 10:15 AM Riding to Atalaya trails and back. There will be a ride leader but no support. 10% discount to all participants.

Santa Fe Century
• Sunday, May 18
• A low cost, fun, early season Century. By cyclists, for cyclists, to promote cycling!
